Cat Sand is the asynchronous brokenbeats duo of Moskitoo and Tetsuro Yasunaga.
Moskitoo has been releasing works on 12k with beautiful and gallant electronic sounds and voices that like a shine through curtains of twilight.
Tetsuro Yasunaga is a member of minamo, a group known for releasing works on 12k and ROOM40 and a lot labels around the world with electronic music that like a beautiful ripples of a sound pebble being thrown into a lake.
However, Cat Sand leave another footprint of the soundscapes. The synthesizer wanders through the space, avoiding the rough beat that is indiscriminately thrown down with strange movements, and mysterious electronic hairballs are scattered at random. When you hear their sound, you’ll be staring into the mysterious eyes of a lo-fi cats walking and playing over digital synths.

Cat SandはMoskitooと安永哲郎による非同期ブロークンビーツ・ユニット。無差別に振り下ろされてゆくザラついたビートを奇妙な動きで避けながら空間をうねってゆくシンセ、そこにアットランダムに散りばめられる可憐な電子音粒。BPM80の猫拍子でうごめくしっぽウェイヴに突如飛んで来るにくきゅうビート。にくきゅう + しっぽ ＝ 毛玉テクノ、猫パンチダブ。
花緑青色のカーテン越しに光が透けて差すような美しさを描き出す電子音と歌声で、ニューヨークの12kやSee Recordingsからソロ作品を発表するMoskitooと、質感に一貫した審美性を根源にもつような湖に小石を投げ込み多様な音輪を作り出すような電子音楽で、12kや同じくニューヨークのApestaartjeやQuakebasket、オーストラリアのRoom40、イタリアの901 EditionsやMr. Mutt、ポルトガルのEsquilo Records、そして360° RecordsやHeadzなど、数多くの傑作アルバムを世界中の名門レーベルからリリースしてきた電子音楽ユニットのminamoのメンバーである安永哲郎。
