"Si Sol E.P." is the newest Moskitoo's EP released from See Recordings based in Osaka,Japan,it's a collaboration between MOSKITOO(sound) and SANAE NISHIO (Japanese paint) .
up-and-coming Japanese painter SANAE NISHIO who has presented her paintings series at her exhibition named ‘surface’.
and Moskitoo is a sound-artist and graphic designer,her 1st album released from 12k in 2007.
In 2008,SANAE NISHIO hold her exhibition,and Moskitoo makes the music for the exhibition,that was the beginnings of this project.The plan for the collaboration project was proposed by Shuhei Otani, a organazer of See Recordings.
He expect to leave something from the exhibition atmospher....
about one year after beginning,finally it was completed after make a lot of preproduction..
The cover art each is completely hand painting by Japanese painter 'sanae nishio'.
The paper used for painting is Special Japanese paper with a brush, and the Materials using mineral colors (pulverized lapis lasuli, malchite, ocher, etc). there are hand made and contains lots of affectionate feelings by those who made it. Every piece has different special tone.
Only 300 copies will be published.
Sensitive and warm sounds of Moskitoo gradate into the art work,the crystals of mineral are glimmering...

Moskitoo is a sound-artist and graphic designer residing in Sappro, Japan. born in 1978, sound+melody artist and graphic designer in Sapporo Japan. She began making music in 1997 playing guitar and small casio keyboards in various bands in Sapporo. In 2005 she began writing, playing, and singing under the moniker Moskitoo. "Drape" (12k1041) is her first full-length release.
